NetSuite Prerequisites
Before installing and configuring Licentra in your NetSuite environment, ensure you have the necessary permissions, access, and information.
Required NetSuite Permissions
Administrator Role Requirements
Your NetSuite user account must have the following permissions:
- ✅ SuiteBundler Access - Install and manage SuiteApp bundles
- ✅ Custom Records - Create and modify custom record types
- ✅ API Secrets - Create and manage API secret records
- ✅ Company Information - Access company setup and configuration
Recommended Role
For optimal functionality, use a NetSuite Administrator role or a custom role with equivalent permissions.
Licentra Account Requirements
Client Account Access
You need access to your Licentra client account to retrieve:
- Client ID - Unique identifier for your NetSuite instance
- License Secret - Confidential credential for API authentication
How to Obtain Credentials
- Log into your Licentra portal
- Navigate to Client Configuration section
- Copy your Client ID and License Secret
- Store credentials securely for use during configuration
Security Note: The License Secret is highly sensitive. Store it securely and never share it publicly.
Network Requirements
Outbound Connectivity
Your NetSuite instance must be able to connect to Licentra servers:

Licentra is compatible with:
- NetSuite 2023.2 and later
- All NetSuite editions (Standard, Advanced, Premier)

Time Requirements
Installation Timeline
- Bundle Installation: 5-10 minutes
- Configuration Setup: 15-30 minutes
- Testing & Validation: 10-15 minutes
- Total Estimated Time: 30-55 minutes
Downtime Considerations
- Bundle installation may require brief system access restrictions
- Configuration changes can be made during normal business hours
- No user downtime required for most configuration steps
Pre-Installation Checklist
Before proceeding with installation, verify:
- NetSuite Administrator permissions are active
- Licentra Client ID is available
- Licentra License Secret is available
- Network connectivity to Licentra servers is confirmed
- NetSuite version meets minimum requirements
- Browser compatibility is confirmed
- Installation window is scheduled (if needed)
